Who is BABSI?The Bhutanese American Buddhist Society of Iowa (BABSI) is founded in May 2015 in Des Moines, Iowa by the Bhutanese Buddhists living in Iowa. The organization is formed in order to protect, promote, and preserve the Buddhist cultural and religious values and practices. BABSI exists as a sister organization to the Bhutanese Community in Iowa (BCI), which is the umbrella organization of other similar Bhutanese faith based organizations namely Kirat Family of Iowa (KFI), and the Association of the Progressive Bhutanese Hindus in Iowa (APBHI).

The Association of the Bhutanese American Buddhist Society of Iowa (BABSI) is established to provide support and assistance to the Bhutanese living in Iowa for their religious and spiritual needs and growth, and to help them protect, promote, and preserve the life style as propounded by lord Buddha.
